SAM works at various levels on the issue of climate change viz. at local, national, regional and international level. We engage with local communities including fisherfolk, indigenous peoples and farmers whose ecosystems, biodiversity and agriculture systems are impacted by climate change. We work with these local communities who contribute to both mitigation and adaptation solutions in responding to climate change. A larger part of our work relates to lobbying for better climate policies We advocate for positive solutions and struggle against those which are false such as big dams, nuclear energy and incinerators.
At the international level, we engage with allies and movements to advance actions that support an international climate regime that is fair, equitable and environmentally sound.
