Mansuh hutan: SAM rujuk kenyataan MB Perak

Sahabat Alam Malaysia (SAM) merujuk kenyataan Menteri Besar Perak, YAB Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir kepada media yang disiarkan dalam akhbar tempatan bertarikh 7 Oktober 2016. 

SAM memetik kenyataan bahawa Menteri Besar mempersoal, adakah salah kerajaan negeri memansuhkan sebahagian Hutan Simpan Segari Melintang (HS Segari Melintang) untuk tujuan membina perumahan rakyat. Klik untuk membaca.

Sahabat Alam Malaysia refers to Menteri Besar Perak Zambry Abdul Kadir statement to the media which was published in local dailies on Oct 7, 2016.

The MB had questioned whether the state government was in the wrong for excising part of the Segari Melintang forest reserve (HS Segari Melintang) for the purpose of developing public housing.

The issue here is not about right or wrong, but compliance with existing policies and regulations. Click to read.

Cleanup begins after Penang flash floods

GEORGE TOWN: A massive cleanup process was in full swing at several areas affected by flash floods in Bayan Baru today. A check at Kampung Sungai Nibong Kecil showed residents clearing rubbish and clogged drainage after the knee-deep floodwaters subsided about 9am. They took about two hours to mop up the floodwater that had seeped into their houses after it overflowed from the drainage next to their single-storey wooden houses. Click to Read

Be serious in solving drainage woes in Balik Pulau – CAP

The Penang state government should take serious measures in solving the drainage woes in Balik Pulau involving three villages urged Consumers’ Association of Penang (CAP).

Persatuan Pengguna Pulau Pinang (CAP) menggesa kerajaan Pulau Pinang dan Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran (JPS) mengambil tindakan segera bagi mengatasi masalah banjir yang kerap berlaku di Kuala Jalan Baru, Balik Pulau di sini.
